Beliefs

grace logoAs a congregation of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS), we are known as a confessional church body. This means we teach doctrine common to all LCMS churches which is derived from the Bible and expressed in the Lutheran Confessions. This doctrine can be summarized in three short phrases: Grace alone, Faith alone, Scripture alone.

We believe all people are born into a broken relationship with God as a result of sin and are in need of forgiveness. By Grace alone, God the Father, the Creator of all that exists, loved the people of the world so much that He sent Jesus Christ, His Son, to be our Savior so our relationship with Him could be restored.

Through the sinless life of Christ, His suffering and death on the cross, His resurrection from the dead and victory over Satan, God forgives the sins of all people. Those who hear this Good News and believe it have the eternal life that it offers. It is by Faith alone that we receive this gift of mercy. It is by the work and power of the Holy Spirit that God creates faith in us through His Word and Sacraments (Holy Baptism and Holy Communion).

The entire Bible is God’s inspired and true Word, in which He reveals His Law and His Gospel of salvation in Jesus Christ, the only Way by which we possess the hope and sure promise of eternal life. Scripture alone is the only way we discover God’s plan for our life.
