Death and Resurrection of the Messiah: Bringing God’s Shalom to a World in Chaos, from noted teacher and historian, Ray Vander Laan, is part of That the World May Know series. Filmed on location in Israel and throughout the Middle East, the series brings God's Word to life with astounding relevance. By weaving together the Bible's fascinating historical, cultural, religious, and geographical contexts, unique insights into the Scriptures' significance for modern believers are revealed.

In this volume of the series, Vander Laan looks at Jesus completing His teaching ministry in the Galilee with some great lessons to His disciples. Then as a good Jewish man, He came to Jerusalem for Passover. The events which transpired in that Passover setting had great significance for the world as Jesus came to Passover as the Lamb of God. God completed His redemptive work through Jesus in Jerusalem during that last week. We will focus on the last events of Jesus’ life—His last teaching lessons, death, resurrection and ascension in Jerusalem.

We will also look at the response of His followers who immediately saw themselves as a new community of people who would bring the message of their Teacher—the message of salvation—to their own people and beyond to the world of the Gentiles. You will be blessed as you discover how the context in which God places these last events enriches our understanding of them and highlights the responsibilities He places on each of us.
