What to Expect

Expect…

to be greeted and treated as one who is loved by God. We believe Jesus Christ died for all people, regardless of past history or present struggles. You are precious in God’s sight so you are precious in ours.

Expect…

your children to be encouraged to worship with you. We have children activity bags to help keep them engaged during the service. We do recognize the challenges that parents face with little ones, so a nursery with a video feed of the service is available when you feel the need.

Expect…

to see a full range of worship attire from very casual to more formal. We encourage people to dress in a way that is comfortable for them, allowing them to focus on the worship experience.

Expect…

to be invited for Bible Study and Sunday School after the service. Growing and maturing in God’s Word is vital to our lives as individuals and as a community. St. John offers a variety of educational opportunities for all ages. God’s Word provides us with the wisdom and guidance we all need to meet life’s challenges. Check out our Education section for opportunities to journey with us through the pages of Scripture.

Expect...

us to express a desire for you to get connected with others outside of weekly worship. Becoming involved at St. John is the best way to get to know the members of our congregation and will also strengthen your relationship with God. We have a vibrant network of small groups that help facilitate this process in a safe, trusting, nurturing environment. All our small groups are designed to build lasting relationships, promote fun and fellowship, help you grow spiritually, and be a source of support. Explore our Ministry section to see which small groups would be a good fit for you or seek assistance from our Stewardship Committee.   It helps to acquaint new members with the people and activities of St. John so they can truly become assimilated and find the avenue of service God has prepared for them here.

Expect…

to be asked to engage in mission service. Jesus came into the world and touched the lives of those in need. He brought them healing and hope through His loving care and the Good News of salvation. We believe that as Christ’s redeemed people we are called to be Jesus’ hands and feet in this world. As a congregation, we have invested ourselves in a number of missions which offer members opportunities to impact lives both near and far. Membership at St. John is not a requirement for participation, just a heart to serve with the compassion of Jesus Christ. Go to our Mission section to investigate those projects that would match your interests and time availability.
